Today the Women's Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) announces that the 2019 WPLL Spring Draft will stream across the WPLL's Facebook, YouTube, and IGTV accounts on Thursday, April 25th at 8:00pm ET. The 2019 WPLL Spring Draft will welcome 25 new players to the WPLL, with each WPLL team drafting five players to join their roster.
"Our 2018 Spring Draft Class made an instant impact on the league last summer, with three of the draftees becoming WPLL All-Stars and Marie McCool winning WPLL MVP," explained WPLL Commissioner Jen Adams. "We are excited to welcome another incredibly talented group of the players to the league this summer. If this spring's college season is any indicator, we have several top-tier players that that are ready to bring their skills to the pro level."
WPLL Fight is on the draft board first, followed by WPLL Brave, WPLL Command, WPLL Fire, and WPLL Pride. The draft will follow a snake order, meaning the second round will be WPLL Pride, WPLL Fire, WPLL Command, WPLL Brave, then WPLL Fight and so on. Draft order was selected at random.
About the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League
Founded in 2017 by 4x All-American, and two-time World Champion Michele DeJuliis, the WPLL is a professional league made up of 125 of the top post-collegiate female lacrosse players in the world and a youth development league connecting with the top high school players in the country. For both our professional and our youth players, the WPLL prioritizes character development as a means to excel in life on and off the field. The WPLL uses lacrosse as a vehicle to provide girls with skills that allow them to not only become better athletes, but also grow into confident and brave women.
