The WPLL is pleased to announce a double header with the June 28th MLL All-Star Game. The New England Command and the Philadelphia Fire will face off at Harvard Stadium at 4:00pm ET, followed by the MLL All-Star team facing members of Team USA at 7:00pm. This double-header will bring the game of women’s lacrosse directly to the many MLL fans that cheer on the local Boston Cannons and the league as a whole, showing young women in the stands that they too can play professionally. Prior to the WPLL game, WPLL players including #1 draft pick Kylie Ohlmiller and New England natives Ela Hazar, Tess Chandler, Maddie Crutchfield, Kristin Igoe, and Tanner Guarino will put on a clinic for female lacrosse players of all ages.
“The WPLL is thrilled about the opportunity to collaborate with the MLL once again,” explained WPLL Commissioner Jen Adams. “The All-Star Game is a true celebration of lacrosse, and we are excited to include the WPLL in the celebration. We hope to inspire fans in the stands and introduce them to our brand of lacrosse.”
This is the third WPLL/MLL double-header announcement this season (June 2nd double-header with the Chesapeake Bayhawks, June 28th double-header with the MLL All-Stars (Boston Cannons), and June 30th double-header with the New York Lizards). “Our goal is to provide our players and our fans with a truly professional lacrosse experience. Each one of our teams is playing in a MLL double-header, giving them all an opportunity to play the game they love on a big stage,” explained Adams.
